WHAT IS THERE TO DO BEFORE MOVE IN DAY?

Six Weeks Prior to Move In Day

• Start a file for all of your moving paperwork (estimates, receipts, etc.)
• Arrange to transfer school records.
• Contact painters, carpenters, plumbers, or roofers that you'll need for any updating.

Four Weeks Prior to Move In Day

• Schedule the disconnect of all utility services at your old residence.
• Obtain proper packing materials.
• Check with your insurance company to see how your items are covered in transit.

Two Weeks Prior to Move In Day

• Prepare auto registration for transfer if you are moving to another state.
• Cancel newspaper delivery.
• Set up change of address mail forwarding.

One Day Prior to Move In Day

• Set aside anything you want in your car and not the moving truck.
• Disconnect major appliances to prepare for moving.
• Dismantle beds and other large furniture.
